Overview

This map visualizes data on grain loans (in thousands of pouds) decreed, between May 28 and May 30, 1933, by the government of the Soviet Union to be distributed to Ukraine's seven oblasts.

The darkest color shade, marking Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa oblasts, indicates loans of 300 thousand poods. The slightly lighter color shade, marking Vinnytsia, Kyiv, and Kharkiv oblasts, indicates loans between 101-200 thousand poods. The lightest shade, marking Chernihiv and Donetsk oblasts, indicates loans between 1-100 thousand poods. There is no data displayed for Moldavia.

The gray boundary lines indicate the oblast boundaries of the April 1, 1933 administrative division of Ukraine into seven oblasts and the Moldavian Autonomous Socialist Soviet Republic (Moldavia).
